These are the best things I’ve seen on the internet this week (no promises they were written the week featured). This regular Friday installment will be full of the awesome theological, creative, interesting, thought-provoking, ethically-challenging, or just ridiculously cool or funny things I rip from the threads of the inter-webs each week. Feel free to challenge me, or add your own in the comments.
#1 :: Why Sports can Matter
In perhaps the greatest single play in football, a Middle School football team takes a knee on the 1 yard line in order to help their special needs teammate score a touchdown and feel a part of their team. Watch the interview and listen to the wide receiver, he perhaps more than anyone else involved was transformed that day. This is love, it transforms not only those with the need, but those meeting that need as well.
#2 :: A Slow Process
One of our favorite organizations here at TFF Love Wins and one our favorite people Katie team up this week to remind all of us that relationships take time. That perhaps the most important ingredient in the process is the time component. Particularly for those of us who like to dive in quick and are always looking for the green grass to go play in this is a critical reminder. Have patience–it’s worth it.
#3 :: Mark Driscoll’s name associated with some Good?
In the perhaps most backhanded Christian internet joke of the week, there was a buzz about a group associated with Shane Claiborne who seem to be starting a foundation to raise money to raise money for women in ministry, and actually hope to establish the “Mark Driscoll Scholarship Fund for Women in Ministry.” Sounds so much like brothers from another mother to me. Hop into the debate!
And just for kicks…
