These are the best things I’ve seen on the internet this week (no promises they were written the week featured). This regular Friday installment will be full of the awesome theological, creative, interesting, thought-provoking, ethically-challenging, or just ridiculously cool or funny things I rip from the threads of the inter-webs each week. Feel free to challenge me, or add your own in the comments.
This week’s edition is an all VIDEO edition (in reverse order to boot).
#1 :: The Scarecrow
I’m sure most of you have probably seen it making it’s rounds, but in case you hadn’t it certainly made a huge impression on me. Chipotle uses advertising to tackle an important justice issue around farming. The commercial takes shots at giant companies that treat food like another product to process and put up their alternative value that food made in sustainable ways that is better and fresh. Check out the New York Times article on it too.
#2 :: Haven’t you always wanted a Robot?
We here at Two Friars and a Fool are HUGE kickstarter fans (as you will see for sure in the coming months) and this is the latest greatest kickstarter. Your own personalize responsive robot. Cause let’s be honest…everyone of us wants a robot as a friend. It’s funded but there is still time to get in on it over at their Kickstarter.
#3 :: Weapons into Music
Picking up where we left off last week with Weapons into Plowshares, this week articles of war and violence turned into beauty through music. It really fits to Pedro Reyes title for the project, “Disarm.” For more check it out The Creator’s Project.
And just for kicks…
#0 :: Nuance
Watch the ubber choreographed movements of this stunning piece where he dances with geometric shapes of light. I particularly love the circle part. Nuance from Marc-Antoine Locatelli on Vimeo.
