Sustaining God’s Body

Christians have too often been to blame for environmental destruction. We pile the trash as high and as deep as anyone else. We will pay the price of a polluted world along with everyone else.

Though many of us are increasingly aware of how we use resources, and how we create waste we often think of these issues as secular. How does the way we treat the environment extend from our theology? What does it say about who we believe God to be?

Rev. Janetta Cravens-Boyd dives into these questions with humility, insight, and passion. Watch her message and then check out our responses below. Then jump in with a comment of your own.

Rev. Janetta Cravens Boyd invites us into a converation on sustainability...

Rev. Janetta Cravens Boyd

is the Senior Minister for University Christian Church in Seattle, Washington, though in relation to the majority of the Church she doesn't feel all that "senior." She is a Christian coach and uses coaching in her ministry with churches in transformation. She is passionate about anything with two wheels or can be scaled in Vibram rubber and is married to the wittiest man west of the Rockies, Will. She has two dogs named Simon and Sierra who shed no matter the weather. She sincerely believes in Jesus' teachings that "the last shall be first," which makes her a Mariner's fan.
